Croton (Codiaeum)

Joseph’s coat.   Of the many varieties available, the Croton petra up to 1ft (30cm) is the most suitable for office plant displays as it is the most durable in artificial lighting.  Crotons provide a bright splash of colour amongst the green foliage of the other plants in mixed style planting.

Needs good light for longevity

1ft tall (30cm) to 5ft (1.6)m

Cut off tall stems and side shoots should form.

Mealy bug. Scale insect.

Smaller plants in the right position will grow to 3-4ft (0.9 to 1.2m)

Not tolerant of lower temperatures.
